Title: Dr. Wirtham's Comix & Stories #9 (#10?)
Post by: Sir Real on November 15, 2007, 06:00:29 PM
Clifford Neal just kills me.  Okay, here's the problem.  I'm going through the Wiki, updating formatting stuff, and I get to Dr. Wirtham's Comix & Stories #9-10 (http://headcomix.info/wiki/doku.php?id=dr._wirtham_s_comix_stories_9-10).  Its a double-sided issue, as Clifford is fond of.  On my site, I'm showing it as only as #9 (http://sirrealcomix.mrainey.com/page/d/DrWirthams09-1.htm).  Also, the Wiki is showing one cover, and I'm showing the other.  The Wiki will probably have to show both covers to be accurate.  That's not the problem, though.  I saw on the cover I don't show this...

As you can clearly see, it is showing "#9 + #10".  The cover I chose was the one that had the indicia on the inside.  Also, on the inside front cover, at the right of the title, there is a pool ball with the number 9 on it.  There is no such indicator on the inside of the other cover.

On my site, I also display Dr. Wirtham's Comix & Stories #10 (http://sirrealcomix.mrainey.com/page/d/DrWirthams10-1.htm).  This is another double-sided issue.  On the inside of the cover that I'm showing on my site, there is another pool ball number...

This is clearly showing a roman numeral 10 (X).  This is the only reference I could find in that issue that shows a number of any kind.

So, how the heck should I proceed with this?

I came across these same questions before. Are there two prints with two different covers or what?

Not two prints.  One printing, two covers.  They're flip covers.  Start from the beginning and read to the middle.  Close the comix and turn it over to the other front cover (back cover), and read in towards the middle again.

Clifford Neal did that four times.  Issues #5+6, #7-8, #9(in question), and #10.

There's a Yellow Dog with this problem too, isn't there?
