Title: Are we being robbed or what?
Post by: jaylynch on December 23, 2007, 09:21:08 PM
What IS this?  http://comix-collection.blogspot.com/2007/12/pfa-lucifera-t62.html   Is this guy uploading entire issues of copyrighted underground comix titles or what?  If so...how can I reach this guy to stop him?  I have an old computer...and can't get into this kind of stuff.

He is hosting them on Rapidshare. So complaining to rapidshare might help too.

Well...I would think that this fellow owes us all some money here....If Harlan Ellison's suit on a similar matter with AOL sets any prescident.
Where is Albert Morse when you need him?  Don't answer that...I know.  I know.

Jason,
I can't get anything that identifies or has contact info for this Canadian guy. Is there any email address or phone number or name for this person?  I can't allow him to reprint my copyrighted material...and my computer...or my server...or whatever can't get through to rapidshare to tell them to cease  either.  He IS uploading entire books, right?
If so...he is stealing from me, plain and simple...and I have to stop him.

Finally I was able to email rapidshare's abuse dept.  So that's that , I guess.  I also notified some of the other publishers and copyright holders of the work on that blog.

Would we all get in too much trouble to suggest, maybe, breaking his arm.  I have heard that  that sometimes works and it's much more satisfying than a cease and desist order.

This is a pretty obscene occurance.  Glad you've discovered it and are correcting.

Where does it say who he is, though?  I would like to contact him.

It doesn't say who he is, it looks like he was careful enough not to leave any contact information. I doubt if blogger.com or rapidshare.com will give you any information, either.

That stuff has been floating around for a while now. I downloaded a torrent over a year ago. You can also find it on the various binaries newsgroups. It's not just limited to Sir Real's stuff, either.

Jay,

Good luck and if one email does not work we can ban together as a good and all fire off a few if you like.

Merry Christmas.
