Anyone know anything about this?
Got this e-mail today from
[email protected], no other info. Seems odd and probably a scam, maybe someone has gotten the same e-mail or knows more about it?
"Hello there,
I am a private security officer attached to one of the private security companies in Iraq and I require your expertise on a project. I will explain more when I get a response from you. It's important.
Bk."
First I've seen of it. Googling themes and variations of the e-mail address turned up nothing. Snopes had nothing, either. I'd be curious to see what the end result is, 'cept for the obvious reasons not to respond.
I'll bet he wants you to take the $150,000,000 that he found and put it into your bank account. Seems like some Nigerian who gave me $100,000,000 because I was the only one he could trust. Sound like you might become rich like I did. Go for it.
If it is the Nigerian Scam, there are lots of sites around that detail how to string 'em along for maximum entertainment.
Here's one...
Revenge of the Nigerian Email Scam! (http://www.netscientia.com/nigerian_email_scam.html)
I found it posted here, too: http://www.stacken.kth.se/lists/kf/2007-11/msg00105.html (http://www.stacken.kth.se/lists/kf/2007-11/msg00105.html).
The return e-mail address (associated with the post cited in the above thread) is listed on this page, associated with another scam: http://www.joewein.net/419/419-gmail-com.htm (http://www.joewein.net/419/419-gmail-com.htm).
