Title: Looking for Zap #0 additional printings
Post by: McDope on May 05, 2008, 10:18:39 AM
Hi,

I presently have a 1st, 2nd, 4th, 7th, 8th, 9th and what I think is a 11th printing of Zap #0 w/ a 2.95 price tag on it.

(https://headcomix.info/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi240.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fff292%2Frauenone%2FZAP0-1.jpg&hash=bc84968bc7b43b9dea1c79721196c826389b66cc)

I am looking for a 3rd, 5th, 6th and what I believe is a 10th printing w/ a $2.50 price tag on it.
I'm not 100% about the numbering of the later printings, so please square me away if you are informed. I've been useing http://www.ugcomix.info/hub.html for my Zap information as far as telling print runs apart.

Any assistance w/ obtaining the mentioned copies of Zap #0 would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks  :bandit:

Also looking for FFFB #2 (1st)

I can probably help you with a few, I'll check when I get back home tomorrow.

By the way, it appears there was no .50 cent cover price printing.

Very Cool!

I thought maybe the 5th or 6th might have a .50 cover price. I wonder what price is on those printings?

Thanks 50Cent

Edit: Hrm. Now I don't see it. It was just a funny cover that was inspired by Zap #0. Nothing important.

OK, McDope. I've compared all my copies and it seems that it gets more confusing than what's listed on UGComix.info.  UGComix lists 5 issues with a .35 cent cover price, I've compared my 30+ copies and I see 8 different printings with a 35 cent cover price.  the one listed as a 2nd print looks to have a earlier thicker matte paper printing, then a thinner glossy paper printing (this adds one additional).  Then I see what appears 2 more printings that go in between the 3rd and 5th UGComix printings.  I'll try to scan all of them tomorrow if I get a chance.

No doubt! What are some of the differences (examples) on the 8 printings you have w/ a .35 cover price.  Just curious.

There was also mention of no cover w/ a .50 cover price. Does it go from .35 to .60?

Thanks

Yes, it appears that it went from 35 cent to 60 cent.

There may have been some copies sold with a 50 cent sticker over the price like they did with the Zap 1. BTW, one of those Zap 1's with the 50 cent sticker is on ebay right now.

That's true, they may have sold some 35 cent cover price ones with a 50 cent red sticker over it (or could have been done by the shop also), but this would still make it a 35 cent printing.  I've got some comix that have a Last Gasp price sticker over the cover price, so it appears that there may have been issues that came from the manufacturer with a sticker price over the cover.

I was there 40 years ago when the the Zap #1s & Zap#0 were 35 cents and saw the change to the addition of the 50 cent stickers on the 35 cent issues.  The next issues were definitely the 60 cent printed price issues. In those 40 years I have never seen a 50 cent printed price on a Zap #0 or #1. I think that if they existed that surely somebody here would have seen them by now.  This has been discussed in another thread. ::)
