A while back I asked "What is your prize underground comix in your collection?" Since that post we have gained a lot of new members so I figured I would pose the question again as well as give the chance to members returning to this thread incase they have out done themselves since last time.

2. Robert Ronnie Branaman (oldest or 2nd oldest comix, also printed by Plymell)
3. Zap Comix #2 (1st print) 1 of 5 signed by R. Crumb and only one w/ COA by Donahue and Fogel.
Runner up would be my High Grade copy of Charlatan #1.
You must really like Prymell a lot. I had a change to buy an original, how do I say this, "collage" sign by him a few years ago and passed. I have pictures of it I can post at some point and time on my home PC. What I do have that is cool is two pieces of S. Clay Wilson original art that was made out to his wife Pam. Also I have a Christmas card from Wilson that was mailed to both Pam and Charles, crazy looking stuff!

Plymell's a nice guy by what I've read from him in our almost daily e-mails. But I'm more a fan of the importance of these items. The reason Plymell and Donahue printed R. Crumb's Zap Comix #1 was because Plymell saw the "Head Comix" page from Yarrowstalks #2 and "lifted" it for his The Last Times #1, he then showed Donahue it who liked it and when he was introduced to Crumb agreed to print Zap Comix.
The Robert Ronnie Branaman might be the first or if not then the 2nd Underground Comix ever produced and seems to not have gotten much notice. Branaman was the person that introduced Donahue to his friend Plymell.
The Zap Comix #2 (1st print) because after reading ComixWiz's observations on it, I contacted Donahue who told me that it was a 1st and only about 500 copies were printed.
I guess I'll list by book value....
Zap #1 - Plymell (around 8.5-9.0)
God Nose #1 - purple (mid grade)
Snatch #1 - 1st print but not with the white pong blip.
Zap #0 - 1st
Snatch #2 - 1st/yellow
I don't have any UGs slabbed yet. I store my higher value books in safety deposit boxes. Not sure if that is the smartest thing but they are out of the house. I'm in tornado country so I feel better with them in a vault.

Zap Comix #0-15 (all high grade, #1 is a CGC'd @ 9.2 3rd print)
Dr. Atomic #1-6, all high grade
Mr. Natural #1-3 (#1 is a fourth print, but #2,3 are both 9.8 first prints :D) Would love to find a high grade first print #1...

And, that run of Zap is nice... I think I read somewhere here that the #3 1st print is tough to get.
There are so many to choose from.
Just going by the American books, I'd have to say that my blood-signed copies of DTs, Pain and Sloppy Seconds, as well as my deluxe Edge City with color print, rank right up there. I'm also quite partial to my Acme Comix from the Pratt Institute and both the Portable Hairy Who and Hairy Who Sideshow.
A recent acquisition, however, is most assuredly one of my personal holy grails, and that's The Being Bag. It was printed back in 1966 and was the first entirely silk-screened comix. What's more is that it was published in one of the earliest hippy communes, Drop City (Colorado), in one of those funky, geodesic domes. Finally, there were only sixty (60) copies printed, making it one of the rarest books around.
To me, it's one of the quintessential, and more important, books of the underground genre. I'm still in disbelief that I actually found a copy, thanks in no small part to the recent mention of it on this very board. I had given up searching long ago, but was inspired again.
Congrats on the find, but if it was this forum that helped you find it you should let us know the whole story...
When it came up in conversation I was encouraged to search for the people involved. The artist himself (who told me about the print run), had promised to photocopy his partial copy and send it to me so I could see what it was like. A year had gone by and he couldn't find it, so I started Googling and managed to find someone else who was in possession of a copy.
