Bookchuck has informed me that he's selling his large Underground collection (approx. 3,500 Underground Comix) that he's been collecting for about 40 years! They are just beginning with the letter "A". You can find it under 1cultural_artifacts1 who's consigned to sell it.
Also, today I checked out a exceptional collection that is going up for sale. The Graham Nash collection has some incredible books and many are in incredible condition. So are really rare items, and too many error (color missing from covers) to believe. If you're looking for probably the nicest Green Lenny ever and have the funds...
I've been keeping an eye on Bookchuck's stuff. I'm hoping he has some foreign books.
Cool... Let hope it starts some bidding wars.
What books do you plan on bidding on 50?
Jason
Wanted that Shelby Kerch checklist, but $40+ for a 3 page checklist with notes all over it? But dbcues won that and the hardcover JK guide. Bookchuck told me that at the rate they will be listing his undergrounds, it'll take about a year or two to list all of them. No, he doesn't have a Das Kampf, Robert Ronnie Branaman or The Last Times, I asked.
I was really surprised to see that checklist go for over $40, especially considering how much writing was on it.
Would rather not have paid that much but never saw one before. I also didnt have a hardcover of the guide and this one seems unused, unlike the softcover that I have written all over. I also picked up a copy of Reason with an Air Pirates interview. Does anybody know where a list of the Nash stuff is listed or if it is?
Nash picked up alot of stuff from the collection of Mike Johnson through Heritage auctions. Much of it is high grade.
Nash also picked up much of his collection from Weist from what I was told.

I saw the list, sans prices. The Lenny is the big one. Eggs and I bought from it before it went to San Diego. Everything else was more or less common but in great shape. He sold the Ozone, Feltch, Plasticville, Gaslite 10, a later Print color variation Mr Natural, and a few other pieces. Again noting obscure list Gas or Gunfighter etc.
Well, that's a disappointment.
A lot of obscure/rare/undocumented items were not listed (about 6 short boxes) that are also in the collection, including a 2nd print of the Inflatocookbook Dr_S used to be looking for.
I never saw that one on the lists I got.. However, I still want a 1st.

Not going to answer my question?
Jason
I think he's going to be bidding on Meemyself the Wicked Elf and Zem the Little Queen as well as Realities Mesh in the Stench of the Belly-Covered Ghost.
Where does a person find the list?
I don't know. I was just being facetious.

I don't know the list of books that are going up for sale for Bookchuck (they said they don't have one and the closest thing to it would be the Kirch list with notes on it the sold to dbcues), there's approx. 3,500 Ug's so I don't know what I'm going to be bidding on. I only asked about the 3 that I mentioned earlier that there isn't copies of.
As for the Graham Nash collection, I only took a quick look at the collection so I don't have a list either, but I'm not one for big ticket items so I probably won't be bidding against you for those ones so you don't have to worry about that. When they start listing ones you're looking at, it would be great Visitor Q if you would let us know which ones you'll be bidding on and how much your max. bid will be.
So what is a green Lenny expected to sell for?
They were asking for $6K as SDCC, I think there were offers in the $4K range according to Michael and it didn't sell so I assume they would take in the $5K range, this is just guess though.
So it's being sold through Neatstuff?
I don't believe there is any connection to NeatStuff. The SDCC was via Steve Wyatt, but I believe that was only for the SDCC. Michael told me that he would be selling the collection pieced out probably via eBay eventually.
Wyatt had the collection only for SD. Neatstuff does not have any connection to it. Mike was making his own deals at the show. After the show events may have changed Wyatts connection but I don't know.
Sorry, guess I dont' know who Micheal is and was assuming that it was Carbonaro.
He's nobody connected with ugs. He is just selling for Nash. Why, I don;t know.
Hello All. I guess that If I'm going to post, it should start here. I wanted everyone to know that I got the folks auctioning my collection to focus on the "odds& ends" first, while still putting most of the actual UGs and Alternatives up on Sundays. I did this because several folks have expressed interest in documenting my collection and that takes time. Patience, good folk, will be rewarded. There's much more to come, in more ways than one.
I just picked up my first two items from the "Bookchuck" collection, Animal Bites and Animal Revolt #2 mini comics. I think the certificates that come with the items are very cool! Looking forward to buying more stuff and also looking forward to receiving my first wayward item, which shipped via Media Mail August 13th and still is somewhere out there in the ether. I could have walked to Arizona and back in the time it takes for the Post Office to deliver something via Media Mail from there. :angry1:
Media Mail is the devil.
Got my certificate with my Waiting for Food #3 with the guts upside down and I definitely like the certificate.
