So what else is new. Look what I just won and what the other issue sold for in JustKids.

And that doesn't include the $99 Zooks vs theirs at $178. Oh well, our gain, the others lose

The funny thing is I had the lot you won on my watch list, but after seeing how high the Moonchild went in the Just Kids auction, I figured I would just be wasting my time bidding on this. Ah, you would have likely outbid any bid I made anyway, as I'm a cheapskate.

Yep, more overgraded NeatStuff items, didn't a Zooks just close for $99 on eBay recently?

NeatStuff? What did they have to do with these auctions? Did you mean Just Kids?

Oops, should have been JustKids...

dr_s

Yup, you would have lost. I really wanted the 3 xxx mags for my collection so my bid was high. The moonchild was for resale and not that important to me.

EggsAckley

Just Kids grading was spotty on stuff I bought last year, but there were eager to make things right.

Dr. S. When are you opening your vault here at HeadComix?

dr_s

Probably next week, It took three weeks for me to recover from my relaxing summer vacation in California. And, last Thurs I started a new term. However, my courses are
stuff that I know and can almost teach in my sleep. So I should have time to do stuff.

Cover of that Zooks looked flawed to me, in the Lizard's hat. Other issue was a much cleaner copy IMO which would = the higher price.

Unless the book is really fucked up, I have never sold one for less than $200. Face it, it's Bode, rare, and a key. Also, it comes from 1stcomix, and despite what some here think of him (and I don;t) he sells stuff in decent condition.

50Cent #II (1st print)

I've been happy with my purchases from 1stComix.

I didn't have any problems condition wise with him, either. One item I bought had a spot, but he clearly disclosed it in the auction. I generally think his prices are a bit high, but otherwise, no problem with him.

+1

Never said anything bad about him, have bought from him in the past, never a problem.

Jason

ps. See for yourself, looks to be a major flaw to me. That hat is not right and clearly shown in the auction...

There is one on ABE right now for $369.00. $99.00 would seem cheap and so would $179.00

Visitor Q

The value of all these books are a mess IMO.

I see most books on abe as overpriced by at least twice their supposed value in most cases.

dr_s

First of all, abe takes a much bigger cut than ebay. So you have to charge more. That being said, while I will agree that some abe prices are nuts, every once in while I get spectacular buys or an extremely rare book at a price I am willing to pay. I got the hardcover c comics  and the hc filipino food at a 3rd of what they have gone for. The best was the HPL tribute HC  I got #2 out of 35 printed. Autographed by many famous sci-fi authors. I paid a $k but it is, aside from the gold turtlemania, the rarest Corben publication I know of. So, even though you have stupid prices on it, it can be a great source.
