What do you guys think, did I just win something special?  Seems like a rare bootleg from the description, or perhaps I suspect maybe the original Canadian edition from Macmillan?

Seller's description:

This is a super rare early copy of Robert Crumb's Head Comix from the late 1960's

Most likely a bootleg from Japan?

Measures 10 1/4" Long X 7 1/2" Wide

This is much smaller than the Ballantine printings from 1970 & 1972. It is even smaller than the 1988 20 year reprinting by Viking Press. Other than being smaller and has a grey lightbulb (as can be seen in the second picture, the copy in question is the one on the far right), it is exactly the same in every way as the other copies. It is the only other one besides the extremely rare hardcover version to have a blank price in the yellow circle on the right of the cover. The Paul Krassner intro and all of the stories are the same.

This copy is the only one I have seen on ebay in ten years of looking.

It is in very good condition with only a slight crease along the upper right edge. It has only slight soiling and has a good sheen to the cover.

I'm going to assume what you have there is the bootleg edition from Taiwan, which came out in the early 80's. The size is 7"x10". This book is available in Don D.'s catalog, which is from where I took the above information. Don has it listed at $12 for a good condition copy.

that lot looks like bathroom reading heaven!    :01_bounce:

Uh oh, $12 a copy from Don.  I think you might be right though, as it has the Ballentine info. near the spine and the first edition didn't have it.
I have to wonder if there was really a Canadian Macmillan edition printed...

This seller has had some nice books lately, these seemed to go for a little on the inexpensive side, do you guys know something I don't?

All I know is you got some great deals. To be honest, I was right on both of those books, had them both on my watch list. That being said, I already have multiples of both, so I passed on both intentionally. I've been spending too much lately, and the wife just got wind of the credit card balance today via e-mail...  :sad5:

Now that I see what the Freak Bros. #1 closed at, I kind of wished I had thrown in a bid.

As for the seller, not sure why he is generating such low bids. I bought his Rip Off Reviews #2 and #3 for the opening bid amounts of $15 and $10 and was VERY pleasantly surprised, they looked pristine, almost brand new.

That's a relief, I thought I was missing something as both look in nice condition and went for too little in my book (and I'm a low ball bidder).  The FB #1 (1st) looks in great condition from the photos, we'll see when they arrive.

Thanks, happy I finally won a Conspiracy Capers.

And just a little while earlier, a hard to find copy of this...

These arrived, the Conspiracy Capers looks to be in F+/VF- condition and interestingly has some kind of color printing defect on the cover.

Hey Sir Real,

Just one one of these Jughead #134 (July 1966) showing Jughead holding a copy of Zap (about a year and a half before Zap came out).

Actually this doesn't seem to come up on eBay very often, this is only the 2nd one I've found since I put it on my search list when you posted it last year.

Reverend

Is it just me or does it seem like Jughead wants in on the action he's watching, if you know what I mean. I just bet there's a bulge in his crotch.

Finally won a FB #2 (4th print), what's the deal with these people bidding up a beat up old 4th print?

50Cent #II (1st print)

I'm confused, but for $6 bucks I took the chance...
Thought at first it might be a U.K. variant (it's not like my 1st or 2nd print), but that looks like 75 cents to me.  Anyone know?

Now I just need #1.  This guy would  only ship to the U.K. because he did't want to go fill out customs forms (no matter what I would offer for his trouble), so I agreed to have it shipped to a friend's U.K. address...
