Thought maybe some of you will enjoy this. If you have a high bandwidth connection (just 270kbps or more), you can watch Old Faithful and other geysers erupt in real time in Yellowstone National Park. Go to http://www.nps.gov/yell/photosmultimedia/yellowstonelive.htm and click on "Old Faithful Geyser Live!—Video WebCam"

Here's one near the center I check when I start missing Amsterdam.

That's cool. I am seeing it at night. Does it ever move, and is it live audio?

Which one?  The Amsterdam one occasionally get's a screwed up image like now, but yes the audio is live.

If the Yellowstone cam goes dead, then everyone within 1,000 miles southeast of Yellowstone best be a runnin'. The lake in Yellowstone is lifting on one side- trees bases are under water on the other. Slow buildup of tectonic pressure below that side of the lake. Which blows first, Yellowstone (the dormant super volcano), Mt. St. Helens (again), or Mt. Rainier?
If the Amsterdam cam goes dead, then it's probably just too many puffs of stink weed.

i went to undergrad in missoula & grad school in bozeman!  my study area was a 2 mile section of road on hwy 191 in the park (animal vehicle collisions).  do you collect the MT u-comix?

I'd like to get those books, and I've never been to Montana. Any idea on how rare they are?

#11
not too common, that is for sure (below according to Kennedy)

Missoula Comix #1 975 copies
Missoula Scandals, Missoula Comix Presents (#2) 1000 copies
Mondo Montana (#3) 2000 copies

one copy of #1 came up for sale (i recall Reverend mentioning it) and garnered ~$35 or so.  arnie and i did about $110 on the three and i hardly blinked.  i was so happy to see them and he brought them at my request, so there was no way i was NOT taking them.

i tell you... i still have a favorite eBay search "missoula" in comics that has yet to trigger an email in almost a year.

Edited based on Rev's post below...

Reverend

I picked up an uncirculated copy of #1 for $35 about a year ago and thought it was a great deal. You seldom see them come up for sale.
