50Cent #II (1st print)

Thought I would start a list of UG's I suggest people keep an eye out for that may not be on your list...
I'll try to keep adding to this list as I come across more of them.
(This is geared more towards the newbies that collect Zap Comix and Freak Brothers and not the regulars here.)

Allstars #2
Man From Utopia
Froopgoop Frolics
Flaming Baloney

Reverend

Foopgoop Frolics. You have a typo there which will stop someone's search dead.

While I like Wolverton, is Foogoop an undergroud?

Reverend

If you consider Plop! or Powerhouse Pepper underground, then I suppose it is, otherwise, no.

Visitor Q

Anyone get the new Wolverton book yet?

Isn't the front cover by Rick Griffin in some way shape or form? (Yeah, I know this is an old thread but I'm just killing some time going back a bit in the archives, looking at bits I haven't previously....)He at least did the lettering, and Wolverton's Gdj....(The unpronouncable comic published by Glenn Bray) Comix used to be listed in UG catalogs, as that was where I got my copy back in the early 70's...Last Gasp, I think...

And yes, I purchased one and like it as much as the older Fantagraphics volume, Wolvertoons....Contents are totally different as it appears the new book is all from original art in Bray's collection and it is reproduced wonderfully....definitely a welcome addition to the library!

This one confuses me a bit.  I know that "GJDRKZLXCBWQ" Comics isn't listed in Kennedy, but I'm sure I've seen the cover listed somewhere!  Dang if I can find it again.  I thought I had seen it in the Illustrated Checklist to Underground Comix, but I can't find it there.

Oops.  Nevermind.  Just found it in the Illustrated Checklist to Underground Comix, under "Misc. Publications".  Heck, I knew I had seen in somewhere.  Wonder why Kennedy dismissed it?

I don't think it really is an underground. More of a collection of Wolverton who is golden age,

Don't get me wrong, I have the complete Bible Stories which is great art.

I tend to agree with your general assessment, but it's always confused me because I bought it as a pre-teen as part of an order I placed with Last Gasp that included other titles like Zap #6, Tits And Clits and  Legion Of Charlies.....and while I knew Wolverton wasn't quite underground, as he had been producing covers for Plop, which was my original point of reference for him, the comic itself looked more like the Zap #6 than the Plop....but it probably should fall into the 'ground-level' category at the rear of Kennedy, moreso than the front part, imo.

Comix Junky

Kitchen reprinted "Spirit" and some original Eisner stuff. And i love that stuff.
But it's not underground.

Slabbing Undergrounds is sacrilege.

The phrase "Action 1 of the Undergrounds"
makes my skin crawl.
