Was not a first print (Someone erased the 35 cent price on the cover), was nowhere near a 9.2, seller agreed to take a return.

50Cent #II (1st print)

Just so you know, SBJStuff is somehow associated with PGX and sells some very crooked stuff.

Wow, I was wondering about him and PGX.  I haven't seen anyone that pumps out more slabbed books than he does.  He's got some good Disney stuff once in a while that I would like to get ahold of. He has a few UGs every now and then but I don't trust PGX's handling of UGs. He must have a billion OMAC #1s at 9.8  but who doesn't.  I'm using mine as walls for a tornado shelter.

50Cent #II (1st print)

Considering picking up one just so I can crack it and return in when it's not a 1st print as stated.

Live and learn, I figured at that price I would have been very happy with an 8.0 if it really was a first.

watch out for the Disney stuff in particular!  a person by the name of Terrence Leder has been know to pass trimmed books through their service (again, like 50c alludes... there is some sort of very damaging relationship to the company).  the Duck stuff was among the hottest talked about stuff... 9.9's, trimmed books, pressed books, etc.  you can search up topics & topics of this stuff from the CGC Boards, StL Boards, or the old CPG boards.

i submitted about 40 Donahue books through PGX in 2004-2005 and with each book i submitted cited printing notations, suggested label text, etc.  for my 1st printing Zaps i always submitted both a 1st and a 2nd so that the difference between the two would be obvious.  still, given all that information... there were many label errors.

i would watch PGX auctions and it was clear to me that they were no using ANY of the reference material that i had cited and tried to show them.  once i bought a PGX Zap Comix #3 without a printing notation, knowing that PGX cannot determine the printing on that book.  i popped it & was right... it is likely a 1st (but may well have been trimmed).

so, i would NOT recommend them and i adjust my bid accordingly when buying.  while i would vouch for my PGX books in slabs 100% for the life of the book, i have accepted that i will likely have to re-slab them through CGC someday, or more likely i will just pop them out.

and all this while so desperately wanting real competition for CGC.  ahh well.

Hey. How can I have zero posts in my signature if I have been posting?

50Cent #II (1st print)

You need to post in other forums besides the eBay one.  VisitorQ noticed this and asked just a couple days ago.

Thanks for the info, oldmilwaukee6er.
I noticed there are a few other UGs for sale through him. There's a few hours left and I'm curious how high some of the late bidding will take them.  Awhile back, there was a Snatch #2, 1st print, through the same dealer.  I asked if it was red or yellow but didn't get a reply.  It was very tempting to get it but I held off. I would have ripped it open anyway.  It actually looked like a nice copy too.  That Snatch #2 was the biggest UG I have noticed he has put on ebay.

I got my refund today in full.

Looks like it, some stains but for $27.51 for a 1st print the winner can't really complain.

Brother J

I saw that one, just wasn't interested with all that wear and the cup stains.

I'm the same way. Unless the book is ultra rare and obscure, I'd pass at just about any price, unless I could flip it.
