50Cent #II (1st print)

Surprised nobody bid on that nice Zap Comix #2 (1st print) for $250 a couple days ago.  1stComix has a 1st print Feds 'n' Heads up now, but it's a bit dirty.
Odd OM, I asked O40A the same about selling me one of those Donahue Zap Comix #1 (2nd print) a while ago, he told me he would hold them until next year before deciding (If I recall correctly), hey wait, it is next year now...

I am pretty sure I will be letting go of 2 or 3 of the Donahue file copies. But it will probably be near the tail end of my auction frenzy. I will sprinkle some nice titles in all along the way to pique interest in my offerings, but the very best stuff will be saved towards the end. I may open an eBay store as well to sell some fixed price stuff. I'm really not sure how I will go about it, but I want a steady flow of offerings, kind of like psychedelicomix did last year.

Rest assured, those who are serious will have a crack at the Donahue file copies. Bear in mind, as I have told Guy and Justin, I am loathe to let them go. I could pay off my credit card debt without selling any of them, but I would have to let go of too many other comix that I love to do it, so some of the Donahues will have to be sold. This year. Maybe in September or so.

The problem with selling them to friends is that I only have one mid-grade copy (FN). The other twelve are high grade (VF to NM+), each with their own file copy letter from Don. I will probably get them all slabbed (sorry, but these comix warrant that investment). No matter what I sell them for, in my mind I will think they are worth twice the selling price. Which makes it hard to cut a sweetheart deal for anybody. But if anybody gets a sweetheart deal, it will be you guys. That one FN copy is the one that will end up being a bargain for somebody, but who?

We'll see how it goes. You'll all know what I'm doing before the rest of the world.

I won't be selling either of my two Mint file copies of Cunt Comics white paper editions, though. Those stay with poppa.

i think that is wise.  you have to have them slabbed with the File Copy designation by using the letters & your documentation of the sale, otherwise they would likely not get the File Copy designation.  and the designation is what makes it 1.5-2x guide.  work with Dr. Ben & Mark Haspel (CGC) when you reach that point.  try to retain the letters after they are used for the provenance (perhaps send CGC a SASE priority envelope).  i'll have me eye out for a nice 8.5-9.0!

A nice copy of Zap Comix #4 by seller Bob Rita (coincidence, since didn't the Print Mint's Bob Rita die?).

Boy, that seller can't grade for shit. If that's a Very Fine, I'd hate to see what he calls a Good. Sorry you missed out, 50. I probably saw this book but left it off my watch list since I already have it.

I've got a Conspiracy Capers, too, and it is in VG- or so condition. I would've shelled out $30-40 for the one you linked here, 50c. But I do agree with Bro J that the seller can't grade for shit. His book was VG at best, but Conspiracy Capers isn't that easy to find in any condition. Highly undervalued, too. A unique comic and a great read.
