I never thought to ask. Are any of you fans of ABC's Lost?

50Cent #II (1st print)

I watch it, but this season so far seems to be a bit disjointed.

Yep, BIG fan.  Never miss it.  I record it every Thu. to make sure I'll have it available.  Fascinating show, altho sometimes confusing, especially now that they have not only flashbacks but flashforwards to the future as well!  Lotsa side bennies to the show too, like learning about Korean culture with the Korean couple flashbacks & such.

For some reason, I didn't see this reply until now.

Good to know there's another "Lostie" on the board. I'm fiending for the finale.

After we see how the Oceanic Six get off the island, I'm wondering how next season will play out. Will we see from the point of view of the characters that are still on the island, or those who left? I'm guessing the show is going to stay centered around the island itself. I'm sure the cliff-hanger ending next week will be killer.

Yeah, exactly.  There's so much confusion, especially now with the flash forwards.  In one awhile back we see Jack drunk at a hospital & then he meets Kate (at an airport?) & says they have to get back to the island.  And then more recently it shows him married to Kate & bringing up Claire's baby & of course we just learned that Claire is (was?) Jack's half-sister!  THAT was a mind-blower!  And then another flash-forward shows the Korean woman with Hurley at her husband's grave, so supposedly he died (of what?) but then another one shows him buying a huge teddy bear for the wife of somebody else (his boss?) who's just had a baby.  Now was that a flash back or a flash forward?  Just too much confusion around here.  <g>

That was a flash forward and a flashback going simultaneously.  Jin's was the flashback and Sun's was the flash forward.  I suspect Jin will die when the explosive goes off on the ship, and possibly Desmond and Michael as well.  I'm guessing next season will be twofold with stuff going on with The Oceanic 6 and the folks left behind with Ben moving between the two parties as he appears to have mastered "time travel".  The following season will be the two groups somehow getting back together...at least that's how I see the overview of the rest of the episodes.  I too am looking forward to next Thursday's finale, and feeling somewhat pissed off that the hospital show before Lost gets to finish their season first, making us Lost ones wait....Bah!

OK, that makes sense.  I kinda suspected it might be something like that.  So Jin's was just after he'd gotten married, then.
QuoteI suspect Jin will die when the explosive goes off on the ship, and possibly Desmond and Michael as well.
Hmmmm, so that'd preclude Desmond getting back with his big love that sort of set him out in the first place, but OTOH it'd be poetic justice for Michael for killing those 2 to get off the island.

Took me a sec. to figure out what you meant by that but then I realized that when he appeared in the desert recently it was a coupla of yrs. earlier than the present time.  But if so, how did he already know Saeed since they didn't meet until the island?  Hmmmm .....

Yeah, same here.  Who cares about that Grey's Anatomy chick flick anyway?  <g>

The key to his time traveling was when he asked the desk clerk the date and then smiled to himself.  It appears that the meeting with Sayid takes place after he's left the island because he appears to be attending the funeral of his lover, who we saw meet him at the airport in the most recent episode.  One of the experiments the Dharma Initiative must have been working on was Time Travel, as we also see Desmond experience some version of it in the episode where he almost became unstuck in time (my personal favorite episode, thus far)  also his lover's father is the guy that is out to get Ben, so who can say how that relationship will play out.  The father also has some tie to the old shipwreck on the island, and may be a time traveller himself, and in fact be Ben's significant other or whatever it is they call the person who is the point of reference for the other in the time travel equation.  That's probably why Ben said he can't kill him, much the way Faraday has to rely on his relationship with Desmond, and so on, and so on.....pretty headache inducing when you get down to it.....Ain't it?

Hey Projunior.....shouldn't your saying really be that you're sick of hearing that Action #1 is The Zap #1 of Comics....screw it, mon! Zap #1 trumps Action #1 in a major way...Superheroes..bah! Let's hear it for comics that are COMIC! Fuck all that other horeshit!

OK, that makes sense, but if it's after Sayid left the island why does the desk clerk say it's Dec., 2005?  Didn't they leave the island now?  Or very shortly after now?

I gotta agree, tho:  Fuck the superhero bullshit!  I was never into that kinda stuff anyway.

Now in Lost time is 100 days after they landed on the island, not 2008.  I can't remember exactly but it's either late 2004 or early 2005 in the most recent episode.  By  the time Ben and Sayid meet  in that desert town it's later, so December 2005 makes sense.

Yes, I was thinking of Comix Junky, as his post was directly above my last one, but the main message I was responding to was yours, so I had my own spatial/temporal brain fart...thanks for the correction.

One of the things I've been most curious about is the remnant of that massive, three-toed statue. I really do wonder if they're ever going to go back and try to explain that or simply leave it up to the viewer to make of it what they will, which is, in my opinion, something from an ancient, perhaps alien, society.
